My name’s Ngima Thogo. I am a 25-year-old digital artist based in Nairobi. Before the COVID error, I worked as a photographer in the city while doing art on the side. COVID kind of threw a wrench into the whole photographer thing. Still, it gave me more opportunities and time to focus on my design work.
I find joy in the details and situations I encounter daily. I'm influenced by my anxiety, solitude, doubt, loss, etc. sometimes, these subjects may seem very esoteric, but I try to give these concepts a sense of importance, healing and hope through my art. In addition, I seek to provide these feelings and emotions with an external interpretation that I can't tell in words.
I see my art to transcend traditional knowledge, linking the past and future, empowering us to connect, honor, and celebrate the bold African legacy that influences global culture.
